INDIKASI :
Untuk pengobatan dan pencegahan gangguan jantung koroner akut dan kronik, terutama angina pektoris, keadaan setelah infark jantung. Juga sebagai obat pelengkap untuk pengobatan hipertensi.

KONTRA INDIKASI :
- Wanita hamil.
- Pasien hipersensitif terhadap Nifedipine.

EFEK SAMPING :
Umumnya timbul pada awal pengobatan, bersifat sementara dan ringan, gejalanya yaitu rasa berat kepala, tubuh/muka terasa panas, mual, udem kaki, hipotensi dan palpitasi.

PERINGATAN DAN PERHATIAN :
Dapat menurunkan tekanan darah.

INTERAKSI OBAT :
- Beta blockers.
- Cardiac glycosides.

ATURAN PAKAI :
Pada umumnya : sehari 3 x 1 tablet.
Pada kasus tertentu : sehari 3 x 2 tablet.

COMPOSITION:
CARVAS film-coated tablet, each tablet contains:
Nifedipine …………………….. 10 mg

PHARMACOLOGY:
Nifedipine is a calcium antagonist. It inhibits the calcium ion influx into the myocardial cell and into the smooth muscle cell of the coronary arteries and the peripheral resistance vessels. This results in the following beneficial effects:
- Nifedipine dilates the coronary arteries and thus, improves the myocardial oxygen supply through an increase in coronary blood flow. At the same time, the myocardial oxygen requirement is reduced by reduction in the afterload. Consequently, nifedipine reduced the frequency and intensity of angina pectoris attacks. With long-term use, nifedipine can also prevent the development of new atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary arteries.
- Nifedipine dilates the peripheral arterial vessels and thus, reduces the peripheral resistance. As a result, nifedipine lower the elevated blood pressure.

INDICATIONS:
- Treatment of coronary heart disease: stable angina pectoris (angina of effort) and post-infarction angina pectoris.
- Treatment of hypertension

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Nifedipine is contraindicated throughout pregnancy
- Hypersensitivity to nifedipine

PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS:
Care must be exercised in patients with very low blood pressure
In patients with impaired liver function, careful monitoring and in severe cases, a dose reduction may be necessary.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:
Headache, reddening of face and skin and a sensation of heat can occur, nausea, oedema of the lower legs, hypotension, palpitation.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
- Beta-blocker
- Cardiac glycosides

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
3 x 1 tablet/day, the dose can be increased to 3 x 2 tablets/day. The tablets are generally swallowed whole with a little liquid.
